On the 19th September 2024, the Ark of Light Food and Emergency bank located at 11 kudirat Abiola way, Alausa, ikeja, Lagos opened it’s doors to over 1,500 families seeking to benefit from it’s Open pantry day.
Since its inception in 2023, the Ark of Light Food and Emergency Bank has been a haven of hope for less privileged families in Lagos and its environs.
In the wake of inflation and food scarcity in Nigeria, most families have been plunged into severe hunger and starvation. The September 2024 Open Pantry Day couldn’t have come at a better time as over 1500 families benefited from the bank’s generosity.
The food bank provided essential items such as rice, beans, pasta, noodles, vegetable oil, palm oil, yam, semovita, clothes, shoes, toys for children, and financial assistance. Beneficiaries also enjoyed cooked food, water, and soft drinks on-site, accompanied by uplifting music. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as each family made their way to the Pantry filled with food items and other necessities.
The founder, Prophet Macwealth’s has been relentless in the fight against poverty and hunger. In the midst of food cost hike, he couldn’t think of a better time to help the poor in the society.
